Distance and filters
The slider sets how far you look; narrowing is always allowed, and widening how far you can act is what Unlimited buys.
Looking and reaching are two different distances, and they are not the same number.
- Looking: the map and the lists reach as far as the slider says, for everybody. Free members are not blocked from seeing further out.
- Reaching: acting on what you found — messaging, joining, applying — is capped at 7 miles on the free plan. Unlimited reaches anyone.
The Unlimited slider runs from 5 to 100 miles and starts at 25. Narrower is always honoured on any plan: nobody needs protecting from looking closer, and looking closer was never the paid feature.
